The transportable phone was designed for use on 1G analogue UK ETACS (Extended Total Access Communication System) networks. It was part of Panasonic's 'C-II' Series of transportable car phones.
Panasonic described it as a "cellular mobile phone that embodies the latest semiconductor technology and is designed for high reliability, compactness, and lightweight."
It featured a 12-digit telephone keypad with nine function keys on the handset. The liquid crystal display could display 10 digits.
