The Nokia C2-02 was described as offering “affordability without compromise” when it was announced. The phone offered Internet access, mapping and messaging which the company described as being “second to none in the market.” It was announced at the same time as the Nokia C2-03.
Nokia Maps was pre-installed on the phone providing local maps and places of interest. These could also be accessed in off-line mode allowing users to view maps and plan routes without being connected to the network.
The phone also included the Nokia Browser which included data compression technology to reduce the cost and improve the speed of browsing.
Other features included a stereo FM radio, media player and memory support that could be expanded to 32GB, making it possible for users to store thousands of photos, videos and music files.
At launch, the phone cost approximately €75 (US$105)
