The MC12 was a pocketable computer offered by Ericsson. MC stood for Mobile Companion. The device was a rebranded version of the HP 320LX and was one of the first handheld PCs to be powered by Microsoft's Windows CE 1.0 operating system. In included Pocket editions of Microsoft Word and Excel as well as other applications such as tasks, calendar and contacts. It also had a very basic version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer. The MC12 shipped with a special cable that allowed the device to be connected to several Ericsson mobile phones (CF388, CH388, GA318, GF388, GH388, GH398, PH388) to provide a cellular data connector. At launch the MC12 cost £400.00 ($730).
