The Ericsson R280d was a variant of the Ericsson R289 / R280. The phone combined a tri-mode TDMA phone with a CDPD modem offering “always-on Wireless Internet”. Other versions of this phone included the R278d, R280di, R280LX and R289LX (for AT&T Wireless). The handset included featured Ericsson’s “EZ-Read” user interface. This phone had the same industrial design as the Ericsson A1228c.
