The SXG 75 was the last phone offered using the Siemens brand. From this point onwards its devices became branded with BenQ-Siemens following the acquisition of Siemens’ mobile devices business unit by Taiwanese company BenQ.
The phone was the first 3G UMTS device wholly developed by Siemens – its previous 3G devices, the U10 and U15, were re-badged variants of existing Motorola devices.
The SXG 75 had a two-megapixel camera, QVGA 2.2-inch 262k colour display, video recording and playback, MP3 player and RDS FM radio. It also included a “Mobile Navigator” capability using the integrated GPS receiver.
The design was notable for the buttons alongside the display which were reminiscent of the
Siemens SX1.
