Samsung’s U620 (model number: SCH-U620) was offered by US carrier Verizon and was the first phone to support its VCAST Mobile TV service. This was powered by Qualcomm’s MediaFLO technology.
When it was announced, the phone was described as being “an exciting landmark for the mobile phone users in the United States" by Dale Sohn, Samsung Telecommunications America president. He stated that the company was “bringing its worldwide experience with video-capable phones to the U.S. with a quality handset that showcases Verizon Wireless' new V CAST Mobile TV service.”
