The Samsung Access (model number SGH-A827) was one of the two first phones to support AT&T’s Mobile TV service which was powered by Qualcomm’s
MediaFLO technology. The service was able to broadcast more than 150 time-shifted programmes from a variety of companies including CBS, Comedy Central and ESPN. The other phone to support the service was the LG Vu.
The AT&T Mobile Music service was also supported by both phones, allowing users to download music from eMusic. It was also possible to sideload MP3 audio files.
The Access had a 2.3-inch widescreen display optimised for viewing the TV content being offered. It also had a dedicated TV button to access the AT&T Mobile TV service. It also included stereo Bluetooth support, a microSD slot, a large speaker on the back of the device and a 1.3-megapixel camera.
